MArch student Andrew McCarthy tests personal, design and construction strength on Aconcagua climb

MArch candidate Andrew McCarthy didn’t know how to sew five weeks ago, but that didn’t stop him from stitching up his own tent for a thesis project that has taken him on a trek in Argentina. McCarthy flew to South America on February 23, 2012, and will trek to the mountains in western Argentina. The project began in January, during the first week of the semester, when he told Professor Shaun Jackson that he wanted to build a tent for extreme climates.
