Taubman college faculty scheduled to speak at Sustainable Ann Arbor Forum
The City of Ann Arbor, in collaboration with the Ann Arbor District Library, will host the final session of the “Sustainable Ann Arbor” discussion series this Thursday, April 12, 2012. Urban and Regional Planning Chair, Dick Norton, and Taubman College alumni and Ann Arbor planning manager Wendy Rampson (AB-LSA’81, MUP’90), are scheduled to speak on the topic of community. The evening’s presentations will include discussions about housing, public safety, public art, recreation, outreach, civic engagement, and stewardship of community resources.
It is the goal of these forums to bring together University of Michigan faculty, representatives from community organizations, and city commissioners to discuss local sustainability concepts and efforts. Each program includes a short presentation followed by a question and answer session. The resulting discussions will serve as a guide for the city’s continued sustainability planning efforts. Past faculty speakers have included Associate Professors Joe Grengs and Larissa Larsen.
This series will be held at 7 p.m. in the Ann Arbor District Main Library at 343 South Fifth Ave., on the second Thursday of each month. This is the last of the series. For more information on the sustainability framework and the Sustainable Ann Arbor Forums, please visit a2gov.org/sustainability.
