Assistant Professor of Practice Robinson receives third AIA honor award for design of Frita Batidos
Taubman College Assistant Professor of Practice, Neal Robinson, attended the annual American Institute of Architects Awards Gala on June 8, 2012 to accept an AIA Interiors Honor Award for his design of “Frita Batidos” in Ann Arbor, MI. This is Robinson’s third AIA honor award.
Frita Batidos is a small eatery that specializes in high quality Cuban-inspired street food and is headed by chef Eve Aronoff, formerly of eve-the restaurant, which was also designed by Neal Robinson and former business partner, Jason Young. The awards jury noted the thoughtfulness and careful articulation of Frita Batido’s restrained material palette to achieve depth and resonance with both pigment and light in a small project.
