Monica Ponce de Leon earns honorable mention in Helsinki’s international architectural competition
Dean Monica Ponce de Leon was recognized last week when the City of Helsinki announced the conclusion of its international Central Library Architectural competition. Ponce de Leon’s entry titled, “Cultural incubator”, was awarded a stage 1 honorable mention for its creativity.
The Heart of the Metropolis – the City of Helsinki’s two-stage open international architectural competition for the design of the Helsinki Central Library – was an open international two-stage competition which attracted over 540 entries from around the world.
The winning project was titled “Käännös” by ALA Architects. The library is slated to open in 2018. For more information visit the competition website
