Planners Network and NOMAS Volunteer at Gleaners Community Food Bank in Detroit
On January 18, 2016, members of National Organization of Minority Architecture Students (NOMAS) and the Planners Network engaged in service in honor of MLK Day. The group volunteered at Gleaners Community Food Bank in Detroit, packing nearly 300 potato bags for families in need.
Gleaners is a nonprofit organization located in Detroit, MI whose mission is to feed hungry people and nourish our communities. They distribute over 34 million pounds of food annually to more than 510 soup kitchens, food pantries, homeless shelters, senior homes and other nonprofit agencies that feed hungry people in southeast Michigan. Gleaners is a member of Feeding America, serving 46.5 million Americans in need nationally.
