Ray Presents Paper at Architecture Media Politics Society Conference in Liverpool

Professor of Practice in Architecture Mary-Ann Ray presented her paper A New “Unofficial” Hybrid Housing and Community Model at the Architecture Media Politics Society Conference  at Liverpool John Moores College held September 8-9, 2016. The paper focuses on the hybrid housing and community building model found in Chinese Villages like Beijing. She looks at the formation of these “Urban Villages” as a combination of bottom-up land transformation by farmers and top-down unofficial contributions by the government.
