Taubman College Fishman Comments on Detroit Redevelopment Plans
Dean Robert Fishman was quoted in the August 18, 2016 edition of the Detroit News, as part of an article, “Quonset Hut Village Sprouts in Detroit Neighborhood,” by Louis Aguilar. The story describes the work of architect Edwin Chan of Los Angeles-based EC3, for the Detroit neighborhood near Grand River Avenue and 14th Street. Chan proposes a series of structures based on the traditional Quonset hut design; two huts have already been constructed on the site. Dean Fishman commented that plans for redeveloping neighborhoods take a “creative marriage” between residents and architects.
