This project explores the various uses of concrete by using the material to structurally, visually, and acoustically frame a cinema experience. Following a structural grid, the building is split into a service bar and cinema spaces. Outside, a large amphitheater allows the community to gather for free movie showings and public events. As users travel throughout the building, they will notice visual and acoustical changes in the concrete based on which part of the program they are experiencing. This is backed by a series of physical material tests capturing the acoustic levels of different concrete manipulations.
