Some of This is That brings together three similar architectures to propose atypical models of collective dwelling in the Jefferson Chalmers neighborhood of Detroit. Residents with different living needs share common spaces between the Tower, Roof, and Edge collectives. While the buildings and their ownership models vary, programmatic and material details share an architectural language that provides individuality within a larger community framework. The project nourishes the existing urban prairie to create versatile outdoor spaces that support plant and animal life among its human inhabitants.
