St. Agnes Plaza, located in La Salle Gardens, is situated in a traditional heritage neighborhood characterized by intergenerational living and improvised urbanism. This dwelling culture is evidence of the people of Detroit making the best of a lack of public space, social and transportation infrastructure, and insufficient housing stock. The project takes inspiration from and hopes to extend this positive dwelling culture native to Detroit.
