The Local Link “Community Connections, One Bite at a Time”

Spaces of Sociality in urban environments play a key role in contributing to the overall health and wellness of a city. The Local Link proposes a social enterprise kitchen, public market, and urban farm to Milwaukee, Wisconsin’s Franklin Heights neighborhood; a neglected community with a rich history. Using the effects of COVID-19 as a catalyst to show the lack of and need for public health infrastructure in the community, the Local Link aims to provide access to quality food, community gathering space, revitalized commercial space, and quality green space to Franklin Heights and surrounding marginalized communities.
