Why did you choose Taubman College as the right program for you?
Originally, I was interested in applying to Taubman College for an undergraduate degree in Architecture. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a portfolio from high school, and I also wasn’t sure that architecture was what I wanted to study. While looking into Taubman, I came across the Urban Technology degree. The idea of combining cities, creativity, and technology was brand new and so exciting to me. I’m really glad I’m in this up-and-coming program.

What is special or excites you about the Taubman community?
My major, Urban Technology, excites me! Being the second class in this brand-new major makes me feel like I’m making history. I’m excited about the future of this program and all of the opportunities that lie ahead. Even though the future isn’t quite clear yet, everyone in Taubman is excited about being a part of building it together.

Describe your experience with faculty and professional staff during your time at Taubman?
When applying to Taubman college and getting ready to arrive here, the professional staff was helpful and supportive. For all of the students coming into Urban Technology, the staff worked hard to keep us connected during the fall semester and answer any of our questions regarding the new program.

What benefits have you experienced being part of the University of Michigan?
I love being a student at the University of Michigan because I’m getting an excellent education with all of the social benefits of a big school. The University of Michigan has so many small groups and clubs to get involved in that you can form meaningful relationships. At the same time, you have the opportunity to meet new people every single day and be part of a large and well-known community!

What do you like most about being part of the Ann Arbor community?
To me, Ann Arbor is the perfect balance between a city and a suburb. The best part about Ann Arbor is that everything in the heart of the city is walkable, and everything outside of the city center is easily accessible by bus. From any campus, you have access to all of the stores, restaurants and entertainment experiences you could think of! Ann Arbor is very clean, safe and community-based. I love it!

What advice would you give prospective students as they consider Taubman College?
When considering Taubman, know that you have endless possibilities. One of the benefits of being at such a big university is that students can explore all of their interests inside and outside of Taubman. Within each degree, there is an inspiring class full of students from all different walks of life. One of my favorite things about Taubman is seeing all of the different viewpoints and interests applied to the same degree program; I’m excited to see all of the brilliant things Taubman graduates do in the future!

What are your plans after graduation?
After graduation, I would like to start on the journey to my dream job. My dream job is to be an Imagineer for the Walt Disney Company. I think Disney properties function like their own cities, and I hope to apply the principles of Urban Technology to this magical environment.
