What is special or excites you about the Taubman community?
The Taubman community is very supportive of each other. People are willing to go out of their way to help each other out – such as lending materials or giving peer critiques. Beyond the classroom setting, I’ve made good friends at Taubman, who I hang out with in my free time.
If applicable, tell us about studio culture – what is inspiring or innovative or unique?
Studio culture at Taubman is unique because I get to learn from everyone around me. Being in studio at the same time as everyone else creates conversations that push my projects and interests to be better. Everyone has something to offer, and the time in studio is more valuable because of the people around you.
Describe your experience with faculty and professional staff during your time at Taubman?
Professors and staff I’ve met have all been friendly and respectful. With each studio, I feel like my mind opens up a bit more, and I’m able to learn something different from each professor. Beyond studio, professors care about you at a personal level, and they’re always understanding that there’s life outside of school.
Shoutout Collin, Laura, and Malcolm 🙂
How has Taubman’s career and professional development support prepared you for a successful career in your chosen field?
There are many resources and people who are interested in the same thing as you. Many people are willing to help out, so don’t be afraid to reach out.
What benefits have you experienced being part of the University of Michigan?
There are so many extracurriculars and organizations to join. Just about anything you’re interested in there’s probably a place for it. I’ve spent much of my time playing, trying new sports, and spending time with people who are interested in the same things as me. The community here is amazing, and there’s a great balance between fun things and academic activities.
What are your plans after graduation?
A Masters in Landscape Architecture
