What excites me most about the Taubman community is its diversity and collaborative spirit. It’s inspiring to see students and faculty from such a wide range of backgrounds and experiences coming together to share ideas and challenge one another. The sense of support and openness creates an environment where creativity thrives, and meaningful conversations about design and its impact on the world take place. Being part of a community that values collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity is something I deeply look forward to every day.

If applicable, tell us about studio culture – what is inspiring or innovative or unique?
Taubman’s studio culture stands out for its balance of creativity, collaboration, and experimentation. I’m especially drawn to how the studios blend hands-on exploration with advanced digital tools, encouraging innovative approaches to design. The collaborative energy, combined with the faculty’s mentorship, creates a unique atmosphere where creativity thrives, and every project feels like an opportunity to learn and grow.

Describe your experience with faculty and professional staff during your time at Taubman?
My experience with the faculty and professional staff at Taubman has been incredibly positive. The faculty are not only leaders in their fields but also deeply invested in mentoring and guiding students through their academic and professional journeys. Their openness to discussion and their willingness to challenge conventional thinking create a dynamic and inspiring learning environment.

How has Taubman’s career and professional development support prepared you for a successful career in your chosen field?
Taubman’s career and professional development support has been invaluable in preparing me for a successful career. From resume workshops to networking events, the resources are thoughtfully designed to help students confidently navigate the professional world.

What benefits have you experienced being part of the University of Michigan?
It has been very gratifying to be a part of the University of Michigan. My study prospects have been expanded by the availability of a vast array of resources, including top-notch libraries and state-of-the-art research facilities. With its wide range of viewpoints and multidisciplinary cooperation, the active campus community has aided in my academic and personal development. Beyond the classroom, students are inspired to succeed and make significant contributions to society by the university’s strong sense of heritage and pride.

What do you like most about being part of the Ann Arbor community?
What I love most about being part of the Ann Arbor community is its unique blend of small-town charm and big-city energy. The city has a vibrant cultural scene, with amazing local restaurants, art galleries, and events that make every weekend feel special. The community is incredibly welcoming and supportive, creating a sense of belonging that’s hard to find elsewhere.

What advice would you give prospective students as they consider Taubman College?
I would advise potential students to take advantage of all Taubman College has to offer. You can genuinely push limits and develop as a designer here, so take the time to look around the facilities, programs, and encouraging community. Prepare to interact with people from different backgrounds and work together with instructors and classmates who will push and motivate you. Last but not least, have faith in your own journey; Taubman offers the resources and setting to enable you to mold your course and have a significant influence in your industry.

What are your plans after graduation?
After graduation, I plan to pursue opportunities where I can contribute to innovative architectural projects that emphasize sustainability and cultural preservation. My goal is to work with firms or organizations that value creative problem-solving and are committed to making a positive impact through design.

My advice to prospective students is to approach your time at Taubman with curiosity and an open mind. Dive into the diverse opportunities the college offers, from studio projects to workshops and extracurriculars—it’s a chance to discover new passions and refine your skills. Don’t hesitate to seek support from faculty, staff, and your peers; the community here is incredibly collaborative and willing to help.
