Black History Month Closing Ceremony and 2025 MLK Lecture February 27 AT 6:30 PM
Thu 27

A. Alfred Taubman Wing Commons

Join us for the 2025 Taubman College MLK Lecture, an exploration of activism, design, and education through the lens of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s enduring legacy.

At a time when institutions often claim neutrality in deeply political fields like architecture and urban planning, this event challenges us to actively advance anti-racism and decolonization in our disciplines.

We are honored to welcome guest speakers Cruz Garcia and Nathalie Frankowski of WAI Think Tank, whose groundbreaking work dismantles racist, colonial, and harmful practices in architecture and urban planning. Through their exhibitions and the Loudreaders platform, they illuminate issues of social and environmental justice—proving that meaningful change is both necessary and revolutionary.

Dinner will be provided!

We look forward to an evening of powerful discussion and community. See you there!
