Decoding Hip Hop as City Planning
February 25 AT 11:30 AM

Zoom
The Radical Planning Initiative will be welcoming Ivi Lewis back for a follow-up workshop to her lecture, “Hip Hop as City Planning.” In this event, Ivi will guide us through the practice of decoding hip hop songs and lyrics as a way to learn the perspective of and connect with the local community. This workshop will further analyze the four elements of Hip-Hop, examine how each component is interwoven into the fabric of urban spaces and policy, and review case studies on how music (in general) influences and inspires the current built environment. The purpose of this conversation is to challenge emerging planners & urban designers to remember the center of their work: people.
