Michael Kennedy is a lecturer in architecture at the University of Michigan’s Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning, and is the founder and co-director of the Center for Urban Topographics, which produces video mapping and documentaries, as well as other projects that focus on the contemporary spatial layout and architectural design of cities such as Berlin and Florence. Kennedy has conducted extensive research on learning and teaching and was awarded the Donna Salzer Excellence in Teaching Award from Taubman College in 2000.

He received a Master of Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Miami University.
