Taubman College’s Caroline Constant participates in Princeton symposium to honor Michael Graves, Topaz Medallion recipient

Taubman College Professor of Architecture Caroline Constant participated in a May 2010 symposium at Princeton University School of Architecture to celebrate the awarding of the 2010 Topaz Medallion to professor emeritus Michael Graves. He is one of only three Americans to be awarded both the Topaz Medallion and the AIA Gold Medal. Constant was a student at Princeton from 1973 to 1976 and worked in Graves’s professional office until 1978.

The Topaz Medallion honors an individual that has been involved in architecture education for a decade or more. Recipient of the National Medal of Arts, Graves has been at the forefront of architecture and design education and practice since founding his professional practice in Princeton, NJ, in 1964. He was awarded the medallion in March at the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture annual meeting in New Orleans.
