Lecturer Craig Wilkins speaks at international conference “Black Studies in Art and Design Education” at The New School

Architecture Lecturer Craig Wilkins will speak at Black Studies in Art and Design Education: Past Gains, Present Resistance, Future Challenges at Parsons The New School for Design on March 26-27, 2011. This is the first international conference on the state of black culture in art and design education. Wilkins will participate in the panel “Curricular Reform in the Study of Art and Design History and Theory” on March 26. Black Studies in Art and Design Education aims to serve as a forum for reflection on the troubling gap that persists between the significance of Black creativity in global culture and its presence in art and design education.
