Taubman College students were lauded for their community involvement, passion for architecture, leadership skills, and academic excellence through scholarships awarded by the Michigan Architectural Foundation (MAF). Basma Elsheikh, M.Arch ’27, Nick Grosh, M.Arch ’27, Cory Hoffman, M.Arch ’26, and Amber Mortzfield, M.Arch ’27 were selected to receive a variety of scholarships ranging from $2,000 to $10,000.
MAF awards merit-based scholarships annually to students completing a bachelor’s degree program and who have been accepted or are enrolled in an academic program leading to a master of architecture degree. Last year, the foundation awarded $44,000 in scholarships. MAF’s scholarship program began in 2001, with one scholarship. Since then, MAF scholarship awards have grown thanks to MAF donors and numerous fundraising activities to support the program.
The Taubman Students were selected to receive the scholarships for their innovative portfolios, leadership and management skills, and commitment to integrating practice and community involvement. The funds will be essential to their continued success and are a recognition of their important role in the Taubman College community.
