Architecture student Molly Conlin awarded scholarship by Alpha Rho Chi Foundation

Taubman College student Molly Conlin, B.S. Arch. ’26, was recently awarded a scholarship by the national Alpha Rho Chi (APX) Foundation for excellence in academics and service to her community and APX chapter. Conlin is one of four recipients to receive the $3,000 John R. Ross Scholarship, awarded to members of the co-ed architecture fraternity.

The Ross scholarship is given to members of the fraternity who exemplify service to their chapter, university, and the architecture profession. Conlin served as pledge committee chair and represented APX on the student council. Through her efforts, the chapter received funding from the University of Michigan for the first time. Outside of APX, Conlin helped organize the sustainability event “Planet Party” alongside eight other students. She also volunteers as a youth basketball coach.

“Seeing such a strong turnout made me realize that my work helped make an overwhelming climate crisis feel approachable and actionable,” Conlin said of Planet Party, which brought together 25 different organizations and eight sponsors.

Conlin currently works as an architecture assistant with Dangerous Architects P.C. The scholarship will help her finish her degree and prepare for the next step in her professional journey.

“I really value the opportunities that I have been given to be an active member of many organizations where I am introduced to new perspectives, shown more opportunities and am able to make an impact,” Conlin said. “In everything I have pursued, I have put my full effort to foster a collaborative and inclusive community.”
