This Urban Technology studio teaches students how to design screen-based digital media and culminates in the redesign of an existing product/service. In this project, students chose to redesign the experience of “A2 Fix It,” a technology used by the city of Ann Arbor to allow residents to communicate common issues to the city, such as potholes in roads or fallen tree branches. Students sought to improve the user experience by addressing concerns raised in interviews they conducted with residents and by making the reporting process more intuitive.
