Over the last decade, the Detroit Riverwalk has experienced significant urban and environmental changes, focused on the development of recreational spaces, with the Uniroyal Site marking its northern boundary. This project reimagines Detroit’s historical divide between industry and recreation through the introduction of a modernized dry dock concept coupled with a programmed ferry linking the Riverwalk and Belle Isle. The primary goal is to seamlessly integrate the Riverwalk’s recent advancements with Belle Isle’s historic charm, creating a space that is both engaging and accessible to all.
