re:focus interrupts the pattern of rapid development occurring along the highly contaminated Gowanus canal in Brooklyn to force a reexamination of our relationship to the ecology of spaces that we have used and forgotten but are on the precipice of being absorbed back into our development narrative. The term exclusion zone signifies defined areas where access or specific activities are prohibited, typically for defensive, construction, or safety reasons.
