Amidst the global embrace of lithium for green energy, the Silver Peak lithium mine in Nevada stands as a focal point of concern, questioning its “clean” energy reputation due to water-intensive extraction processes. Our project scrutinizes these dynamics, emphasizing the environmental and social impact amidst Nevada’s water scarcity. From tribal reservations to mining sites, we navigate the complexities of lithium production, water rights, and groundwater dynamics, highlighting the urgent need to protect communities and ecosystems from the consequences of lithium mining.
