Why did you choose Taubman College as the right program for you?
I chose Taubman College’s urban and regional planning program because students have access to learn about a diverse range of topics, from environmental planning to comparative planning law to racial equity in urban environments. When I first spoke with Taubman students, they met me with warmth and they exuded passion for their studies of urban planning. I thought, this is the place to be!

Describe your experience with faculty and professional staff during your time at Taubman?
I’ve found faculty and staff to be very invested in the success of Taubman students. Professors have made themselves available for discussion, providing advice, and answering questions about topics outside the direct scope of their courses. Experience in the field allows faculty to impart very practical knowledge and critical insight about implementation. Plus, Taubman’s many practitioners invite students in to experience their work alongside them.

What do you like most about being part of the Ann Arbor community?
Ann Arbor is a small city with innovative plans, making it the perfect laboratory to learn about urban planning for the first time!

Additional advice or thoughts you’d like to share with prospective students?
Seek opportunities and learning outside of your existing interests— it will make you a more well-rounded planner.
