Anya Sirota is an assistant professor of architecture who teaches foundational graduate and undergraduate design studios as well as conservation theory and practice in the Master of Science in Conservation program. Her interdisciplinary research and scholarship focuses on contemporary issues of architecture and urban design with emphasis on scenographic practice, architectural salvage, and emergent urbanities.

Sirota is the cofounder of AKOAKI, an independent practice that supports her ongoing speculative and constructed interests. The practice has received recognition in the United States and abroad. Since joining the faculty in 2008, Sirota was awarded the Donna M. Salzer Award for Teaching Excellence, and was voted one of the 30 Most Admired Educators for 2013 by Design Intelligence. Sirota received her masters of architecture from Harvard's Graduate School of Design, where she earned the Araldo Cossutta Prize for Design Excellence. She holds a B.A. in modern culture and media from Brown University.
