University Record highlights Architecture’s Harry Giles’ work on net zero energy efficient buildings
A recent story by the University Record describes Professor of Practice in Architecture Harry Giles’ efforts to build a prototype façade to make buildings more energy efficient. With the help of high-tech sensors, the façade aims to capture energy, transmit light, and insulate the building. The project won funding from a joint effort between the University of Michigan and China’s Shanghai Jiao Tong University that promotes renewable energy and biomedical technology innovations.
