Taubman faculty present recent research at ECLAS 2013 in Hamburg, Germany
The European Council of Landscape Architecture Schools (ECLAS) annual international conference will be held in Hamburg, Germany September 22- 25 2013 and is hosted by the HafenCity University Hamburg.
Associate Professor Geoffrey Thün will present, “The Megaregional Common: A Framework for Thinking Megregions, Infrastructure and ‘Open’ Space”, co-authored with Assistant Professor Kathy Velikov and Lecturer Dan McTavish (M.Arch ’13).
Etienne Turpin will present, “Navigating Postnatural Landscapes: Jakarta as the City of the Anthropocene”, co-authored with Assistant Professor Meredith Miller and Adam Bobbette.
The ECLAS 2013 Conference “Specifics” will examine and emphasize ‘difference’ in situation and approach while reflecting on scalable and portable strategies for research and teaching against the backdrop of globalization. ECLAS represents the interests of the academic community of landscape architects and landscape planners within the wider European social and institutional context. ECLAS provides an internationally recognized forum for academic exchange and international cooperation between universities working in the field of landscape architecture, and represents a key platform for discussion of specific issues currently of concern within the discipline.
