Potters House

This house attempted to take the purpose of the included studio space, pottery, and gardening and scale it up to the entire structure. This home is a man-made space that houses nature and growth, similar to handcrafted pottery with a house plant. This relationship is achieved through specific geometric dichotomies, stratified interior gardens, and maintaining a space void of barriers to foster growth and creates the illusion of outdoor living. The form is derived from the circular themes of pottery and the homes programmatic use, but the circles are encased in rectilinear shapes to blend into the surrounding urban environment, which allows dedication of service spaces to the circular forms, and other less interesting aspects of a home to hide within the overlapping poche.
