The building complex attempts to “architecturalize” the concepts of water with form and thickness, absent from container, by creating geometric “chunks” of water in several forms. Outdoor pools with spillover edges imply volumes of water that are free-standing and self-formed. The experience is enhanced with circulation routes that pass between both volumes of water intended for athletics and recreation, and actual spatial volumes simply clad in water. The resulting effect is akin to a “parting of the seas”, an experience that is spiritually, experientially, and formally intriguing.
