Through a Wider Lens: Re-envisioning the Great Lakes MegaRegion

Abstract

The Great Lakes MegaRegion, a large area from Pittsburgh to Milwaukee, south to the Ohio border and north to the lakes’ shore, faces numerous challenges but also has many assets. Goals are to develop an identity built on the MegaRegion’s unique assets, to create economic growth, to protect and restore the natural environment, and to strive to eliminate segregation and inequality. Several sets of strategies can help to achieve these goals.
