The architectural work and profiles of Office dA, Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning Dean Monica Ponce de Leon and partner Nader Tehrani’s practice, is featured in the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum’s “Design USA” an exhibition of the past decade’s National Design Award winners.
Design USA celebrates the accomplishments of the winners honored during the first ten years of the esteemed National Design Awards. The exhibition, on view at the National Design Museum in New York City from October 16, 2009 through April 4, 2010, features outstanding contemporary achievements in American architecture, landscape design, interior design, product design, communication design, corporate design, interaction design and fashion. Developed in collaboration with the renowned firm 2×4, Design USA focuses on innovation through the lens of technology, material, method, craft and transformation.
The awards, first launched in 2000 as an official project of the White House Millennium Council, were conceived by the Smithsonian’s Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum to honor the best in contemporary American design.
Office dA won the National Design Award in Architecture Design in 2007.
Office dA’s New Kuwait Sports Shooting Club is featured as part of Design USA’s exhibition on contemporary innovation.
