Design Meets Disability Clinic featured in MIchigan Daily

Adams and ‘Design Meets Disability’ Clinic featured in Michigan Daily

Associate Architecture Professor Robert Adams and Graham Pullin recently held a two-day symposium at the U-M and its success earned it a feature in the Michigan Daily. The event sought to inspire designers to consider accounting for persons with disabilities as a welcome design challenge. With over 2100 students registered with U of M’s Services for Students with Disabilities, the clinic was a useful, welcome opportunity to discuss new modes of thought with students and faculty, and included a lecture from Pullin.

The clinic and lecture were both organized by Adams to raise the profile of the Design and Health concentration which is part of Taubman College’s new Master of Science in Architecture degree. The Design and Health concentration encourages a focus on the human element of a design, and prepares its students to be more inclusive-minded, forward-thinking architects and designers.
