Taubman College students receive 2026 MAF Scholarships
Seven students from the A. Alfred Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning were named 2026 scholarship recipients by the Michigan Architectural Foundation (MAF), which awarded a total of $59,500 to 16 architecture students across Michigan.
The annual MAF scholarship program recognizes students for excellence in design, leadership, academic achievement, and community involvement, and provides support for the rising cost of architectural education. This year marks the 35th year of MAF scholarship awards.
Taubman College’s 2026 MAF scholarship recipients are:
- Sumayah El-Ganainy, B.S. Arch ’27 — Richard M. & Sidney K. Robinson Scholarship
- Krzysztof Lower, M.Arch ’27 — Katherine & John Banicki Scholarship
- Monserrat Molina, B.S. Arch ’27 — Hausman Family Scholarship
- Amber Mortzfield, M.Arch ’27 — Daniel W. Toshach & AIA Saginaw Valley Chapter Scholarship
- Ann Nguyen, M.Arch ’27 — Leslie Tincknell Scholarship
- Katherine White, M.Arch ’27 — Kenneth Neumann Design Scholarship
- Joyce Zheng, M.Arch ’27 — Rossetti Legacy Scholarship
The recipients were honored during a ceremony at SmithGroup’s offices in Detroit’s historic Guardian Building. This year’s scholarship program also introduced several new awards, including the Rossetti Legacy Scholarship and the Hausman Family Scholarship, both awarded to Taubman College students.
