Dean Robert Fishman announces Research Through Making winners
Dean Robert Fishman announced the winners of the next group of Research Through Making faculty research grants. These interdisciplinary projects, which emphasize the importance of making, were given grants for a year-long research study, the results of which will be on view in an exhibition in March 2017.
The project submissions were adjudicated by three outside experts, all former Muschenheim Fellows at the College: Kent Kleinman, Gale and Ira Drukier Dean, College of Architecture, Art, and Planning, Cornell University; Nataly Gattegno, Associate Professor and Chair, California College of the Arts Graduate Architecture Program and Founding Design Partner, Future Cities Lab; and Lisa Iwamoto, Professor of Architecture, University of California Berkeley and Principal, IwamotoScott Architecture
Winning projects are:
- DEPLOY: Spatial Patterns of Lightweight Landscapes — Jonathan Rule, Ana Morcillo Pallarés
- Latitudo Borealis – Lars Junghans, Geoffrey Thün, Dustin Brugmann
- Morphable Architectures – Sean Ahlquist, Wes McGee, Henry Sodano (College of Engineering)
- Sound Effects – Catie Newell, John Granzow (School of Music, Theater, and Dance)
- Thermoplastic Concrete Casting – Tsz Yan Ng, Wes McGee
