Sirota, Galvez Speak at Architecture_Media_Politics_Society Conference

Associate Professor of Architecture Anya Sirota and William Muschenheim Fellow Liz Gálvez both presented at the 2018 Architecture_Media_Politics_Society (AMPS) Conference, which took place November 1-2 in Cleveland.

AMPS is an international nonprofit research organization whose mission is to explore and promote research on (and understandings of) the intersections between politics, society, culture, and the built environment. The title of the 2018 Cleveland event was “Alternatives to the Present: A Conference on Architecture, Urbanism, Sociology, Development & Planning.” Sirota, who is principal of the Detroit-based firm Akoaki, gave the keynote address to kick off the conference. Gálvez, who studies lifestyle, culture, and American housing, presented her paper, “The Well-Tempered American Home: From Shell to Air Architecture.”
