This urban house is a private space designed to be public. Both this house and it’s precedent (E-1027)— designed for few to live in and many to occupy—merge each level of privacy, yet the overall social boundaries are demarcated quite clearly. The public and collective areas are the most prominent in this house, and it becomes denser and closed off as one moves in deeper from the street. Through balconies and large windows, both inside and out, the gazes of the public, collective, and private are allowed to permeate through and interact with one another.
