This house draws heavily from the Orinda house with its similar use of columns, furniture, and pony walls to organize space. The premise of the house is the deconstruct the negative stereotype of the “cat lady” by having a minimalist, uncluttered aesthetic. The integration of the woman and her cat’s spatial needs creates a fluid interior space that blurs the hierarchy of owner and pets. They are provided with both shared and separated spaces as they live in the house as equals. The woman and her many cats then peacefully cohabit in an organized space that satisfies both their needs.…
