Ellen Donnelly is a Lecturer in Architecture at the University of Michigan where she teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in design studio, construction and design fundamentals. Ellen received both her M. Arch and MS in Design Research from the University of Michigan and her B.A. from New York University in Urban Design and Architectural Studies. Professionally she has worked for Studio Works and Durfee Regn in Los Angeles. In addition, she has worked in the education department of the Whitney Museum of American Art and as a research assistant for the curator of architecture and design at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles. Ellen is a founding partner of max_ed out, an interdisciplinary design studio based in Ann Arbor, MI. max_ed out moves between design-build, graphics and speculative research.
